El CPD está situado en el antiguo refugio antiaéreo de los bajos de la catedral Upenski, y se refrigeran con el agua marina mediante un sistema subterráneo de tuberías construido por la compañía eléctrica Helsingin Energia. Al enfriar el centro de datos, este agua se calienta y sirve para proporcionar calefacción a medio millar de viviendas próximas.
