Con objeto de conservar y mejorar la biodiversidad del río Henares, el Ayuntamiento de Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) impulsa un proyecto medioambiental con la plantación de vegetación autóctona, la creación de rutas cardiosaludables y, sobre todo, la concienciación sobre el cuidado del entorno partiendo de las aulas con la creación de ecoescuelas.

In order to improve the environment and the biodiversity of the Henares River, the City Council of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) is promoting an environmental project with the planting of native vegetation, the creation of heart-healthy routes and, above all, raising awareness about caring for the environment starting in the classroom with the creation of eco-schools.
