La tesis doctoral, admitida al Premio INAP 2016, tiene como objeto analizar las causas de las dinámicas de estabilidad y cambio en las instituciones científicas. La hipótesis principal del planteamiento pretende demostrar, como factor de cambio, el modelo de gobernanza y gestión actual de la ciencia, configurado en un marco político en función de reglas e intereses concretos.

En función de esto, se estudia cómo se asume y concibe el cambio en el Sistema Español de Ciencia, en concreto, a través de la Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) y, en particular, uno de sus centros, el Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales (CSIC - MNCN).
